2012 Nissan Z Review

Nissan Z Reviews

The 2012 Nissan 370Z is unchanged from the 2011 model. The 370Z is an affordable high performance car. It has a powerful engine with strong acceleration, sporty handling, and great styling. It is available in a coupe, convertible (roadster), and a high-performance Nismo model. Although the 370Z is a great sports car for the money, there are a few issues. The engine can sound coarse and like it should be in a truck. It is loud in the cabin due to road noise and there is no rear seating, unlike some of the 370Z’s competitors.

Both the coupe and the Roadster are run by a 3.7-liter, V6 engine with 332 horsepower. Both models are rear-wheel drive and come with a six-speed manual transmission. A seven-speed automatic is optional. The Nismo version of the coupe has the same engine, specially tuned to produce 350 horsepower. Fuel economy is 22 miles per gallon combined for the coupe and 20 for the Roadster.

The coupe 370Z comes in three trim levels, base, Touring, and Nismo, while the Roadster offers just base and Touring. The base models include 18-inch wheels, keyless entry and ignition, cruise control, climate control, and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player. The Touring trim level adds leather upholstery, heated power seats, Bluetooth connectivity, and eight-speaker Bose stereo, a six-CD changer, and satellite radio.

With the Nismo, additional features include 19-inch wheels, high-performance tires, a stiffer suspension, and a larger rear wing. The Roadster is similarly equipped to the coupe, but also includes a power-operated soft top. All models come with standard safety equipment including antilock brakes, traction control, stability control, and side and side curtain airbags.
